The SBU kept a “mole” of the Russian GRU, which distributed to residents plans for special operations of the Defense Forces behind enemy lines.
About this he says in a message from the department.
“The attacker turned out to be a lieutenant colonel, commander of one of the units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, whose residents left even before the start of a full-scale war in spring of 2024, he was remotely “activated” by an employee of the Russian GRU occupation and decided the task: to transfer the plans of military operations of the Defense Forces to the Russians, ” they said in the department.
In general, he was interested in intelligence data about sabotage and reconnaissance raids of Ukrainian special forces behind the front line in the direction of Zaporozhye, Kherson and Crimea.
To carry out hostile work, the “mole” used his official position, with which he received information about the planned routes for the movement of the Defense Forces soldiers, their weapons and their “targets”.
The agent also released data about other units of the Defense Forces to his Russian retainer.
Security Service investigators reported him on suspicion under Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state treason committed under martial law).
The attacker is in custody. He faces life imprisonment by forfeiture of property.
Let us remember that FSB agent arrested at SBUwho was spying under the guise of a delivery messenger. He gathered the coordinates of major transportation routes and medical facilities to transfer this data for fire destruction. The agent was detained while preparing a report for the FSB.
