The haze forces you to divert 19 flights in the Airport of Gran Canaria | SER Las Palmas

The strong episode of haze that is affecting the canary archipelago, and that has given rise to the declaration of the alert status by the regional Government, has forced it to divert up to 19 flights that were scheduled to land on the island of Gran Canaria, as reported by Aena.

The Airport of Gran Canaria continues to be inoperative and flights are being diverted to other alternative airports in Tenerife and Fuerteventura, and even others have decided to go back to it.

Already this morning the haze caused three flights to Lanzarote had to be diverted to the Airport of Fuerteventura, although then has been able to continue operating as normal.

The sabbath is the day of the week that higher traffic load have air traffic controllers that the flight diverted are assuming an overload extra in a situation already complex.

As shown from Air-traffic Controllers, the suspension of operations on the part of Aena in the Airport of Gran Canaria could be lengthened quite a bit and the visibility conditions are getting worse, which makes it advisable to maintain the constraint.
