The epicenter of the tremors was recorded less than thirty kilometers from the southern tip of Hawaii, also known as the Big Island. The focus of the earthquake was at a depth of 17.1 kilometers.
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Honolulu said there was no danger of a tsunami. The quake was reported by residents of the island of Oahu.
