The recent storm that hit Baja California left damage not only on the Mexican side, but also in neighboring cities such as San Diego.

In the case of Tijuana, the city was involved in a series of emergencies that affected citizens, including floods.

Areas such as Vía Rápida, Mariano Matamoros, Riviera del Bosque, among others, were severely flooded during the first hours of the storm.

In Ribera del Bosque, neighbors were forced to try to tear down a fence since their homes were flooded, with the water reaching up to the residents’ waists.

In the streets, cars and trucks were affected, leaving some of them stranded, and there was the case of a truck that lost control and fell into the pipeline. In addition, a red and cream calafia was stranded due to the current of water when trying to go up to the Infonavit Cachanillas neighborhood, while it was in service.

On the other hand, the case of two private schools located between Vía Rápida Alamar and Terán Terán Boulevard was reported; the Colegio Bilingüe Rey and Colegio Alamar, in which the rescue of 150 people, including students and teachers, had to be carried out due to the flooding of the ground floor of their facilities.

The Tijuana Fire Department announced the rescue of two people who tried to cross streams and were trapped in the current, including the case of an older adult, who had to be helped by firefighters.
