The marketing agency Featuring got residents, entrepreneurs and stakeholders from the Haute-Côte-Nord to talk about their situation last week. The aim: to identify what makes the area unique, attractive and exciting. In short, find your DNA.

It is together with his signature innovation, that he received financial support, that the MRC La Haute-Côte-Nord awarded contracts to improve the tourism situation. Water and forest must be at the heart of this approach as they particularly characterize the area.

On August 13, part 1, which includes the establishment and renewal of the tourism and territorial marketing identity of the Haute-Côte-Nord, continued with two participatory workshops, one in the west and the another in the east. More than 20 people, who were initially targeted by the group, were brought together for special activities.

These workshops completed the methodology of the first part carried out by Featuring. “Deep work has been done,” referring to the first sight of the president, general manager and partner of the Montreal group, Véronique Desrosiers, in Portneuf-sur-Mer.

The team met with the mayors and leaders of the eight municipalities in the area as well as doing research. The MRC was responsible for showing it around the area and finally, citizens were met through the participatory workshops. The final step will involve the analysis and drafting of decisions to define the pillars of the brand and identity of the land, by September.

“People from all walks of life participated in the workshops in both regions,” said Ms. Desrosiers, pleased with the local participation. Residents, newcomers, entrepreneurs, organizational and municipal stakeholders as well as tourism businesses were present. »

There will be two more parts after completing this first part of the territorial approach.

Regarding part 2, the mandate includes strengthening the tourism development of the Haute-Côte-Nord. To do this, the MRC wants to receive proposals for concrete leisure tourism experiences with an emphasis on digital technology and to identify innovative activities to strengthen, encourage and assist stakeholders in the tourism sector of the region. The company must also contribute to the development of an action plan.

Finally, with the third and final part comes a strategy to increase the impact of tourism in the area. It will therefore be necessary to identify and develop opportunities that meet consumer expectations and also improve the quality of life of residents.

Remember that MRC La Haute-Côte-Nord awarded the contract for the implementation of the innovation signature “La Haute-Côte-Nord, land of water and forest” in May to the company TouriScope for the sum of $194,307.
