On Sunday at 12.00, Hammerfest municipality held a press conference about the ongoing outbreak. The latest figures show 110 infected among the municipality’s 11,300 inhabitants. More than 1,000 people are in quarantine.
– This is a very serious situation. I can not clarify it enough. We have no control, said rapporteur Marianne Sivertsen Næss at Sunday’s press conference.
– We expect many more infected. Where it stops is just to predict, says municipal chief physician Aud Marie Tandberg, who adds that even though the municipality does not know exactly where the infection comes from, they assume that everyone comes from one source of infection.
NRK writes that the outbreak has spread to Tromsø, Alta, Nordkapp, Karasjok, Sør-Varanger and Bergen.
