THE COUNTRY | MANIZALES
The 30th edition of the Festival del Pasillo Colombiano de Aguadas (Caldas) will be held this year virtually and in person. Yesterday the qualifying rounds began that will have 30 artists (among soloists, duets, trios and groups) in the Contest of interpreters, 10 in the Contest of unpublished work (vocal and instrumental modality) and the same number in the National Contest of Choreography (6 groups and 4 couples).
It should be noted that the rounds are online and you can see them on Facebook @ AlcaldíaAguadas, on the Teleagudas channel and on the Somos Pasillo YouTube channel. Today will be the second round (8:00 pm) and those who qualify will be in person next Sunday on the stage of the Aguadas Bicentennial Theater for the Grand Final (8:00 pm). There will be public entry, but with a ticket office and with limited capacity due to the pandemic.
“Thanks to all the participants and to all the people who, through their dissemination and support, allowed us to receive 112 registrations in the different events of the Festival,” Luz Elena Castaño, Musical Artistic Director of the contest, said through the Somos Pasillo page.
Cultural reactivation
For Lindon Alberto Chavarriaga, Secretary of Culture of Caldas, the talents of the National Meeting of Pasilleritos Aníbal Valencia Ospina should also be highlighted, which brings together 12 minors from Caldas, Risaralda, Boyacá, Cundinamarca, Huila and Valle del Cauca. “The Festival de la Plaza, which will be in the Simón Bolívar Park, will bring together guest artists of all genres such as Herencia de Timbiquí, Corraleros de Majagual, Revelation Duet, among others. We would be talking about at least 20 invited artists ”, he said.
He added that it is important that cultural events be reactivated because not only will artists return to live from their art in contact with the public, but the economy of the municipality will move because transport, hotels and gastronomy will have their positive effect.
