The Hague wants to ban carbide shooting | Inland

“It is far too dangerous in an urban environment,” said a spokeswoman for the mayor. It is not yet clear how carbide shooting can be banned. “The possibilities for a ban are still being investigated.”

The mayors of places like Teylingen and Diemen have also indicated that they want a ban. Diemen has already included the ban in the APV (general local regulation).

The 25 mayors who together form the Safety Council speak on Monday during their meeting about carbide shooting around the turn of the year. They discuss, among other things, whether national measures should be taken to put a stop to the popping of milk cans and what the enforcement will look like.
