On Wednesday, May 26, a historic step was taken to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. The Court in The Hague in the Netherlands ruled that Royal Dutch Shell should reduce its emissions by 45%. The 2019 levels were taken as a basis and a 10-year term was granted to comply with the sentence.
