For the members of Haaner TV there was also a ray of hope in the difficult Corona times of the last few years. In mid-June 2021, the club received notification that it would receive funding under the NRW “Modern Sports Facility” program. For the largest club in the garden city, which experienced a decline in membership during the pandemic, the letter from the State Chancellery was like warm rain in times of tight coffers. The state supported the renovation of the floor and ceiling of the club’s gym with €140,000. “We have set ourselves the goal of making a significant contribution to the modernization of our sports facilities in North Rhine-Westphalia. We can now significantly reduce the renovation backlog,” stressed Andrea Milz, State Secretary for Sport and the Volunteering. Since another Haan club withdrew its funding in spring 2022, the subsidy for the HTV has increased by 23,855 euros.
