Retirees generally take advantage of their free time to indulge their passions: DIY, gardening, walking… There is no shortage of occupations. Others discover the joys and positive effects of sport. As they get older, some will say that sport would no longer be possible at their age. And yet, it is quite the opposite! Sport, however little practiced, quickly brings benefits to the body. It is now up to everyone to choose the sport that suits them. As you get older, gentler activities will be preferred so as not to rush your body, share a moment with others and especially to keep up. The practice of sport as you age is absolutely beneficial for the body. Sport, at any age and in all respects, is good for your health. Be careful, however, not to exceed your limits. It is also a very good vector of social bond which promotes exchange between participants and actively fights against depression.
Thus, the members of the association Retraite Active, chaired by Daniel Marre, spare no efforts to keep fit and meet several times a week to participate in the various activities offered that stimulate the body: gym classes ( articular, respiratory, balance) on Monday morning, 2 hikes (gentle 6/8 km or more sustained 8/12 km) on Monday afternoon, health walk on Tuesday afternoon, gym (strengthening, well-being) on Thursday afternoon, Nordic walking on Friday morning and water aerobics in the afternoon.
Last Thursday, many of them gathered at 2 p.m. at the gym located under the Jacques-Prévert school in Luc, to participate in the gym, strengthening and well-being class, led by Eve. Classes open to both men and women, accessible to everyone, aiming to work on flexibility, stretching, muscle strengthening, breathing, body control …
Courses which take place in compliance with sanitary measures.
