Genoa – Emma has just finished her walking lesson: she sweated and struggled in the parking lot next to the gym she attended until the Government Dpcm, that of 24 October, did not close it. «Fantastic experience, I hope it can continue even when they reopen», smiles the forty-year-old before getting into the car to go home where a day of teleworking awaits her.
Compared to the lockdown in March, something has changed and those who manage the Sori facility have decided to take machines and equipment outdoors. Sara Musselli has asked the mayor for permission and to the local police and left, taking advantage of the sunny days that these weeks are giving away: «Customers are responding to the great – she says -. We always have the courses booked and this allows us to keep in touch with those who attended the gym. Probably, given the success, we will repeat the experience even when we hope it will be back to normal ». Since the gym is in the parking lot, customers leave the car and change close to the equipment they will use for the exercises. «Zero travel and zero risk – continues Sara -. And the shower each in his own home, which happened even before because our spaces did not guarantee distance ».
Sori was only one of the first, why outdoor motor activity and equipped has also taken hold in Genoa. On the buffer zone of Pra ‘, for example, where the pool managers – not being able to reopen the pools until further notice – decided to let the members vent on the athletics track of the I Delfini sports center, managed by the Aragno sports group . An idea that came to mind of the two managers, Marco Ghiglione and Elert Xhaxho. And it is the latter, head of marketing and communication, who explains what is new. «We want to maintain contact with our members. Sure, the business isn’t as complete as it usually is, but we manage to guarantee a serious workout. Even with bicycles“. And he adds: “For all children aged 6 to 10 and children aged 11 to 16 we have decided to offer motor activity courses in the new athletics field”. Outdoors, Covid is less scary: the structure on the buffer zone lends itself well to the measures adopted to contain the epidemic. It is a place that can be easily reached by public and private transport. And this is encouraging parents to bring their children ».
But the Aragno did more, sharing the area with other clubs and gyms who otherwise would have had to wait for the end of the emergency to leave again: “We have received several requests and we are evaluating how to manage the cohabitation”.
Finally could not miss the Uisp, for a project that goes beyond the disciplines practiced. Gentle gymnastics and walks to be proposed to those who are already over the years: “At most 10 people at a time, we are trying to study what to do”, reveals the president of Liguria Tiziano Pesce. Unless our region passes from the yellow to the orange band.
