The use of tactical nuclear weapons by the Kremlin will hasten the end of Russia. In this case, it will face the collapse or change of leadership and the return of all the occupied territories.

Kirill Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, believes that if Russia uses tactical nuclear weapons in Ukraine, there are only two options for ending the war. Budanov spoke about this on Monday, May 2, in an interview HB.

According to him, in this case, the war of Russia against Ukraine can end in two ways – the collapse of the Russian Federation into three or more parts or a change in the Russian leadership.

“This war will end. There are only two options for how it can end.”

“The first is the division of Russia into three or more parts. And the second is the relative preservation of the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation when the country’s leadership changes.

In the latter case, the new leader will say that the Russian Federation has nothing to do with all these processes, it was a sick dictator, and the country has nothing to do with it. In this case, Russia will give up all the territories it occupies – from the islands of Japan to Koenigsberg, the current Kaliningrad, which belongs to Germany.

At the same time, Budanov assured: “Don’t worry, Ukraine will win.”

When asked if the war could end and Russian President Vladimir Putin survive, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate replied: “Leaving him a retreat is one of the strategies, but it is almost unrealistic. He is a war criminal for the whole world. This is his end, he got himself into trouble.”

Budanov also stressed that the use of tactical nuclear weapons by Russia would only hasten the end of the Russian Federation.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky said he did not rule out that Putin may use nuclear weapons.

The US Congress prepared a resolution for the introduction of troops into Ukraine in the event of the use of the Russian Federation weapons of mass destruction.
