Arsenal start Premier League 2021/2022 with a humiliating defeat to the promoted team. The Gunners helpless and defeated 0-2 of Brentford.
Arsenal travel to Brentford Community Stadium, Saturday (14/8/2021) early morning WIB in the opening match Premier League 2021/2022. The host immediately troubled the visitors by playing high pressing.
Brentford scored in the 22nd minute through the action of Sergi Canos. His shot beat Bernd Leno at the near post. The 1-0 score lasted until halftime.
Arsenal tried to increase the intensity of the pressure in the second half. However, the team made by Mikel Arteta actually made a fatal mistake so that they conceded for the second time.

Arsenal counterattacked in the 33rd minute led by Gabriel Martinelli. The ball passed to Nicolas Pepe on the right, who then cut in to shoot. His kick deviated far to the left of the goal.

Pressure from Arsenal in the second minute of the second half. Granit Xhaka received the ball from Albert Sambi Lokonga, then passed it to Kieran Tierney on the left. Tierney fired a hard low shot that Raya could stop instead of passing.
Another opportunity for Arsenal in the 51st minute. Emile Smith-Rowe stabbed in the middle and had a shot at goal, under pressure from two Brentford men. His efforts led to the middle and was overcome by Raya.
Lokonga’s shot in the 60th minute, after receiving a pass from Xhaka, headed for the goalkeeper.
Brentford responded in the 66th minute. Canos received a pass from Mbeumo and fired from the edge of the box. The ball can be read and driven by Raya.
GOAL! Arsenal conceded again in the 73rd minute. Arsenal’s defense failed to block or secure the ball from throw-ins. Christian Norgaard then came in from the second line and slashed home with a header into the net.
Arsenal almost conceded for the third time in the 80th minute. Sorensen’s bait from the corner was deflected by Norgaard, but it was still rolling thinly on the right side of the goal.
Arsenal threatened in the 85th minute. Xhaka received the ball not far in front of the penalty box and fired hard. The ball slid thinly to the right of the goal.
Arsenal attacked again two minutes later. Smith-Rowe slotted in a through ball to Tierney on the left and crossed with a cross. Pepe grabbed at the first opportunity, Raya blocked him.
There were no other goals until the game was over, Arsenal lost 0-2 to Brentford in the first week of 2021/2022.
