Russian President Vladimir Putin has renewed his threat to use nuclear weapons in response to any Ukrainian nuclear attack hitting Russian territory or even in defense of other countries, warning that hundreds of Russian missiles will fly through the air and it will be impossible to stop them.
During a press conference held at the end of his visit to Kyrgyzstan today, Friday, Putin underlined: “The means of deterrence is to be able to protect one’s own country with nuclear weapons, and that the enemy’s belief in the possibility of carrying out an attack preventive makes this way of thinking a threat to Russia”.
“I assure you that after the missile warning system receives the signal to attack, hundreds of our missiles will be in the air and it will be impossible to stop them,” Putin said. “The enemy on the territory of Russia is inevitable. “, so hundreds of our missiles will be launched and they will still fall. There will be nothing left of the enemy, because it is impossible to intercept a hundred missiles. This, of course, is a deterrent.”
Putin stressed that “the response will be a serious deterrent, but if the enemy believes to the core that it is possible to use a preemptive strike, and we do not, then this makes us think about the threats such ideas create for us to defend other countries ”.
The Russian president stressed that “the special military operation in Ukraine continues as usual, and everything is stable with us, and there are no questions there, and there are no problems today, and everything is going stably.”
Commenting on the decision of European countries to impose a cap on the price of Russian oil, Putin stressed that this decision is “damaging for global energy markets”.
He explained that “putting a cap on oil prices will lead to a reduction of global investment to zero, which will lead to a catastrophic rise in prices”, describing this proposal as a “stupid proposal”.
“Prices will eventually go up and hurt those who offer such solutions,” Putin said.
He stressed that the reason for Russia’s opposition to the price cap was that “this issue is not just about us, but rather about all producers. Why? Because if someone agrees that the consumer sets the price, this it will lead to the collapse of the industry, because then the consumer will insist on a “minus” price.
