Cristiano Ronaldo and his agent reportedly broke a deal with Juventus when he signed for Manchester United last month.
Ronaldo’s whirlwind return to Old Trafford came in the final week of the transfer window.
Once it was clear that Ronaldo had decided to leave Turin, United intervened quickly, despite Manchester City appearing to be the favorites to sign the 36-year-old.
United were quick to announce that they had reached a deal to bring Portugal back to the club subject to the agreement of personal conditions, a medical examination and a visa.
And Juve have confirmed United are paying £ 12.86million for Ronaldo plus £ 6.86million in potential additions, in a statement issued early on the day of the transfer deadline.
And the striker has already started to reimburse these costs with four goals in three matches.
But Ronaldo’s departure left a hole in the old lady’s attack after Jorge Mendes broke a promise with Juve.
Chain Carousel Be confidentiel, via Sport Witness says Ronaldo’s agent Mendes reached an agreement that his client would not leave until August 15.
This would give Juve the opportunity to bring in a replacement. After that cutoff point, Ronaldo was supposed to stay put so that Juve were not left out in attack.
The scenery changed, however, after Ronaldo started on the bench against Udinese in Serie A on August 22.
It was apparently the last straw that broke the camel’s back and “accelerated everything” and “broke the pact”.
And once Ronaldo’s decision was made, there was really only one place he was headed, especially when PSG has distanced itself from a movement.
The transfer hit Juve hard. They remain winless in Serie A and are in the bottom three with just two points. They have also managed just four league goals.

Furious Juve Legends
The story matches the anger that Juve legends Alessio Tacchinardi and Sergio Brio recently expressed.
Tacchinardi told Tuttosport: “Ronaldo should have left in a different way, not in his private jet while (Massimiliano) Allegri spoke to the team ahead of the game against Empoli.
“I expected a press conference to say goodbye to the fans. They deserved something different.
“There are no more legends like [Alessandro] Del Piero, [Francesco] Totti, [Paolo] Maldini ou [Javier] Zanetti, but it wasn’t nice to hear from Ronaldo that he was going back to a place where he felt like home.
“He put Juventus in a difficult position, starting with a few days before the end of the transfer window, it is impossible to replace a goal machine like him.”
Brio, 65, a quadruple Serie A winner, added: “Juventus deserve more respect, I didn’t expect Ronaldo to snub the club like that. It wasn’t nice of him.
