This Sunday, May 22, 2022, four hooded individuals entered armed, inside the prison area of Draguignan prison.
The alert was immediately given by two agents making up the intervention team. These personnel are responsible for regularly touring the prison in a vehicle.
Quickly, after the alert, the supervisors were targeted by gunfire. a real burst of fire will reach the intervention vehicle. It was only after a few minutes that the officers realized that they were being targeted by paintball guns.
Like the reminder the FO Justice unionthe intervention vehicle is still not equipped to retaliate, since the latter is not armed.
This time the worst has been avoided but “these individuals now know our modus operandi, and we became aware of this huge flaw” deplores the union. “What would have happened if this incident had taken place between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. or on night duty? Since the intervention vehicle is inoperative during these hours.” he adds.
