The Syrian Mohammad Sheikh Ismail, who was executed with 10 bullets in Sofia, was liquidated for revenge by Afghans because of illegal immigrants who died in Strandzha. This is the main version on which forensic scientists work.
As BLITZ first reported, the 17-year-old foreigner with documents was waited on the street in front of a block of flats in the capital’s Krasna Polyana district, where he lives, by two masked assailants who they filled his body with lead. 10 bullets were found in the body of the murdered man, and two of the shots were control shots and fired almost point-blank.
19-year-old Ahmed became a witness to the brutal murder. During initial questioning, he denied knowing the victim well, but later admitted that Mohammad was involved in human traffickingand the scheme was led by Turks.
The migrants were taken across the Bulgarian-Turkish border near Malko Tarnovo. Towards the interior of the country they moved on foot, passing through the difficult and rugged terrain of Strandzha.
It is believed that in one of the courses taught by Mohammad, three Afghans died during the transition in the area of Momina Church and Fakia.
“The killing was personally motivated and born of intense hatred. It is possible that the murdered person dumped the people who paid him in the mountain, or gave them drugs that led to their death.”commented a police officer from the investigation, quoted by “Weekend”.
The area between the villages of Momina Church and Fakia has been a graveyard for nameless young men in recent months.
Traffickers earn about 50,000 euros from one course with 15-20 migrants.
