Natalya Varley struck the USSR audience with her beauty, playing the main role in the “Prisoner of the Caucasus”. Fans have repeatedly recognized her and Alexander Demyanenko, who played Shurik, as one of the most beautiful couples to appear on the screens. However, few people guessed what the artists would actually look like together.
The thing is, off the set, Varley and Demyanenko definitely wouldn’t have been such an organic couple. As it turned out, the growth of the famous actress is only 150 centimeters, while her partner is 169. That is why director Leonid Gaidai constantly had to look for tricks and hide that Varley is the shortest in the entire ensemble of actors of the movie .
Note that in the movie “Operation” Y “and other adventures of Shurik” Demyanenko was also unlucky with his partner. Natalya Selezneva, on the contrary, turned out to be six centimeters taller than her colleague, as a result of which Gaidai was again forced to resort to tricks.
