The Growing Risk of Drug Use Among Youth: National Day of Remembrance for Deceased Drug Users

July 21 is National Day of Remembrance for Deceased Drug Users.

What many forget: The starting age for drug use is getting lower and lower – also here in Mainfranken in the countryside.
When asked, the drug advice centers in the region confirmed that even children as young as 13 regularly take drugs, and synthetic drugs such as ecstasy, Ritalin or so-called “oxys” (actually a cancer drug) are particularly popular with younger people. And not only in the city – but just as long in the villages in the country.

So that it doesn’t get that far and young people get addicted – or, as two girls in northern Germany have to die at the age of 13 in spring from the consequences of taking pills: Talk to your children, take the problem seriously and don’t look away.
