The group “Židrūns” publishes the song “Rindās kails” / Article / LSM.lv

Rock band “Židrūns” has recorded a new album of original music. The song “Rindās nakils” was published as the first fragment of it. The album will be released on October 30, when a concert dedicated to the release of the record will take place in Riga, informs the publishing house “I Love You Records”.

For the vocal instrumental music quartet, which has been active under the name “Židrūna” since 2003, the events of this spring, changes in everyday life and cultural life have given many impressions to do something unusual for the group, the publishers point out: “If the three albums songs, then the songs and compositions for the fourth studio recording have become fast. The arrival of the big virus, the bunch of tragic numbers and surprising restrictions, the switching of fellow citizens and group members to the isolation mode in the spring of 2020 gave “Židrūnas” a period of enthusiastic creativity. Then most of the nine songs and compositions were created. ”

The upcoming album in vinyl and digital form is called “Židrūns kovārņu grandchildren”. It will be released by the music publisher “I Love You Records”.

“The album is an opportunity to pass on to future generations (God bless them!) The feelings and visions of our present encapsulated in pleasant sounds,” says the band’s bassist Ulvis U.

Diversity in sound and texts born in the 1980s

The publishers of the album emphasize: “The group’s” hysterical sound, “as music journalist Uldis Rudaks once put it, is also preserved in the new album. It can be heard that “Židrūnas” has fresh musical inspiration from various types of rock and funk music from exotic countries. There are audible references to psych a stoner rock mood and aesthetics. As a group from the musical community of Ādmiņu Street in Riga, this quartet’s recording does not lack dark shades that sound loud. In addition to electric guitars, bass guitars, drums and voice, you can hear the overtone, harmonies, electric organ and various percussions. ”

The words in the album were created by the author of the group’s lyrics Židrūns G. Some of the songs are written around bright poems, the authors of which – like the members of the group – are from the generation born in the 80s. They are Toms Treibergs, a Kikne and a Latgalian writer in Raibi.

The picture of the album cover was made by the artist Otto Zitmanis, who also created the album cover for the band’s previous album.
