A magnitude 5.7 earthquake was registered in southeastern Peru, the US Geological Survey said, quoted by DPA and BTA.
The quake struck at 7:20 p.m. local time, with an epicenter about 200 km north of Cusco in Manu National Park. The outbreak was at a depth of 13.5 km.
Peru is located in the so-called Pacific Ring of Fire, where about 90 percent of the world’s seismic activity is registered.
