The gripping story of the deadly shooting at Uncle Sam’s supermarket

Colorado

Incident shooting at a supermarket in Colorado, United States of America (USA), sparking horror. An eye witness who was at the scene admitted to hearing voices several times shot, before he escaped through the back door.

As reported AFP, Tuesday (23/3/2021), this shooting took place at a supermarket called King Soopers in Table Mesa, Boulder, on Monday (22/3) afternoon, at around 15.00 local time. The motive for the shooting is not certain.

“I almost got killed wanting to buy soda and a bag of potato chips,” said Ryan Borowski, who was inside the supermarket when the shooting took place.

Before leaving and escaping from the supermarket on Monday (22/3) local time, Borowski told CNN that he heard at least eight gunshots.

“It felt great that everyone was helping each other and our instincts were the same and we were running … I don’t know why other people didn’t do it, and I’m sorry they fell silent. I hope this doesn’t happen,” he said.

An eye-witness’s unverified livestreaming footage initially showed at least three people lying on the floor, before gunfire was heard.

The local police said that 10 people were killed, including a police officer named Eric Talley. Talley, who has served the Boulder Police since 2010, was the first policeman to arrive at the scene after receiving reports of a shooting and about someone carrying a rifle. Talley was shot dead when confronted by the perpetrator.

The identities of the other nine victims who died have not been disclosed to the public, because the police are still notifying their families.
