The Greens are growing in the communities west of Freiburg. CDU and AfD are plagued by losses. The FDP recorded profits. Many voters also opt for small parties.
In the six municipalities between Freiburg and Kaiserstuhl there is a clear winner of the state elections in 2021: the Greens. With the exception of Merdingen, they are now in first place everywhere and therefore ahead of the CDU. However, as at the state level, the strongest increases are for the FDP. In contrast, the AfD is one of the losers in the election, like the Union. The SPD also loses its share of the votes in the municipalities, which are divided between the two constituencies of Freiburg I and Breisgau.
