The check is valid for a period of six months and can be used to make purchases at supermarkets and other food-selling businesses, such as bakeries and fishmongers.
650 million
In total, the Greek government will release around 650 million euros. A single-member family can request a maximum of 220 euros per month. An amount of 100 euros will be added for each additional family member. For large families, a maximum amount of 1000 euros is applied.
“We are trying to help as many families as possible,” the prime minister said. The program is funded by excess taxes on the country’s refineries.
For like 5000 euros
The program benefits couples who earn up to 24,000 euros a year. Another 5,000 euros per child is added. According to Mitsotakis, more than 85% of taxpayers are helped by the program.
