Deputy warden of EL.AS. and two other members of a criminal organization were arrested – “Security officer in Western Attica pushes coke at various parties”
Deputy warden of EL.AS. along with two other members of a drug-trafficking criminal organization, were arrested early Thursday afternoon by Internal Affairs officers.
A case file was filed against the three for criminal organization and for violating the laws on drugs, weapons, flares and fireworks, amateur and professional sports, while the police officer is also accused of dereliction of duty.
At the same time, by decision of the Hellenic Police Headquarters, the police officer was suspended and a Sworn Administrative Examination was ordered against him.
Specifically, according to the case file that has been filed, the defendants have been active in drug trafficking in areas of Attica since at least the end of May 2023.
The email that “burned” the police officer
The investigation began on May 24, following a complaint that was sent by email to this Service and it said: “I want to report a Security Police officer in Western Attica who pushes coke at various parties together with his brother, who works as a barman. One’s phone is … and his brother’s …”.
As it emerged from the investigation, the members of the criminal organization acted with distinct roles, and in particular the deputy warden and the 28-year-old arrested were supplying narcotics and storing them in the former’s house, where he lived with his brother.
They would then supply small amounts of cocaine to their friends for a fee.
It is worth noting that they used code names for their negotiations. For example, when talking about cocaine they used the words “ball”, “such”, “stuff”, “tangles”, “trick”, “something” and “pieces”, while when referring to raw cannabis, they said “papa”.
On Thursday 21/09, an operation was set up during which the police officer was initially arrested near his home. On it were found 5 unbalanced nylon packages containing cocaine with a total weight of 3 grams and a mobile phone. The other two, aged 28 and 28, were then arrested.
From a search of the homes of the arrested, the following were found:
- 2 precision electronic scales,
- metal grater,
- 57 grams of cocaine,
- 0.5 grams of raw Indian hemp,
- bullet pistol,
- 70 cartridges,
- knife with a blade length of 8.5 cm,
- knife with a blade length of 17.5 cm,
- iron fist,
- iron folding club,
- torch,
- 9 firecrackers,
- handwritten notes, with lots of prices and quantities,
- 2 mobile phones,
- syringe as well as vials and paper packaging with indications of anabolic substances,
- 22,715 euros and

The three arrested were brought to the competent Prosecutor’s Office yesterday.
