On Friday, March 8, from 6:00 p.m., there will be a piano recital called “The Great Return of the Chanson” performed by the new artistic couple Alena Antalová and Alex Anders. This evening promises unforgettable experiences from beautiful songs about life and interesting conversations in the picturesque surroundings of the New Town Castle.
Alena Antalová, an acclaimed actress and musical singer with a home stage at the Municipal Theater in Brno, who became famous for her roles in TV films and series, teamed up with Alex Anders, a talented composer, lyricist and performer, who continues with his work the Czech chanson tradition of greats such as were Hana Hegerová, Petr Hapka and Michal Horáček.

Hotel Medlov, whose origins date back to the 1930s, was a popular meeting place for celebrities of the time such as Jan Werich and Jiří Voskovec. Its current form, formed in the 1970s according to the design of the architect Jiří Herzán, reflects the elegance of the Brussels style, complemented by original artistic elements from leading Czech artists and craftsmen.
After the tour, a champagne tasting will take place from 8:00 p.m., led by co-owner Klára Piskořová. Participants can look forward to five selected types of champagne and an insider’s explanation, which will bring them closer not only to the differences between the individual types, but also to interesting things from the world of champagne.
