The great march of the ruling party to support the electoral victory of Nicolás Maduro begins

Supporters of President Nicolas Maduro took to the streets of Caracas and other states on Saturday to celebrate “the triumph of peace” on July 28, when the president was re-elected.

The president called on the ruling party to remain in constant mobilization against the outbreaks of violence generated by groups of extremist opposition sectors, who last Monday, after being proclaimed by the National Electoral Council (CNE) as president-elect for the period 2025-2031, caused damage to public structures, police modules, regional headquarters of the Electoral Power, hospitals and transport units, among others.

From the Balcón del Pueblo, located in Miraflores, the seat of the Venezuelan government, the Venezuelan president called for “the mother of all marches,” which will include a “great mobilization” and a “concert for peace.”

Venezuelan authorities have denounced that the candidate of an extremist sector of the opposition, Edmundo González, and the former deputy María Corina Machado, are leading a plan to carry out a coup d’état, with the support of the US and other countries in the region.

Machado, who claims to be in hiding, also called for a rally this Saturday in Las Mercedes, a wealthy neighborhood in Greater Caracas, in support of the alleged victory of her successor, González. The former parliamentarian maintains that she has evidence of alleged “electoral fraud,” even though she has not presented it to the competent bodies, and does not recognize the results announced by the Venezuelan Electoral Authority.

On the other hand, González did not attend, like the rest of the 10 candidates who ran for president, the TSJ, which called them to announce an expert opinion of the elections and the cyber attack reported by the president of the CNE, Elvis Amoroso, which delayed the transmission of the data.

On Saturday, Maduro confirmed that he is “absolutely at the disposal” of the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) to conduct an expert appraisal of the elections, after he filed an appeal before that body to “clarify everything that needs to be clarified.”

“In compliance with the Constitution, channeling everything under the law. We have the complete minutes. We are ready and prepared!” he wrote on his X account.

• Following the opposition’s refusal to acknowledge the election results and outbreaks of violence generated by riot groups, President Nicolás Maduro filed an appeal for protection before the TSJ to certify the results of the July 28 election through an expert report.

• The objective is for the highest judicial body to “devote itself to resolving the attack against the electoral process and the attempted coup d’état” and to “clarify everything that needs to be clarified.”

• Almost all the former presidential candidates appeared before the TSJ on Friday, except for radical opposition candidate Edmundo González. The highest court gave them a three-day deadline to present all the electoral records, in order to certify the results.
