The grandfather of the child who shot was linked to the process

Keep.- José Ángel “N”, grandfather of the boy who shot and killed his teacher in the Cervantes de Torreón school, was linked to prosecution for the crime of manslaughter in its modality of commission by omission.

At a hearing held on Sunday, which lasted more than three hours, a control judge decided that there were data that presume the commission for omission by the paternal grandfather of the child, because he lived with him and the weapons with which he shot the past January 10, they belonged to him.

Eduardo Nakasima, in charge of the process management of the Coahuila Prosecutor’s Office, mentioned that the debate of the audience was more precisely on the issue of omission and the quality of guarantor of the child.

From now on there will be a period of four months for the closing of complementary research, which could be extended.

José Manuel Mireles, the defendant’s lawyer, mentioned that they will analyze whether they appeal or challenge the resolution of the judicial authority and said that Mr. José Ángel is calm.

It was Friday, January 10, when the youngest José Ángel, 11, brought two weapons to his school, killed a teacher and injured six other people before taking his own life.

The Coahuila Prosecutor’s Office has indicated the grandfather of the child as likely responsible for the homicide of the teacher Maria Assaf Medina, for having been ignored and negligent when having weapons within reach of the minor.
