The special with the subtitle Eurocrash is dedicated to the countries of Central Europe that used to belong behind the Iron Curtain. And there will also be a significant Czech footprint in it, even though the Czech Republic itself will apparently be absent from the episode.
At the same time, when the first information about the filming of the new part in Central Europe appeared a year ago, it seemed that the trio of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May spent some time with the film crew here as well. In addition, at the time of filming, Clarkson replied on Twitter: “We’ve already been there. It was raining.’
However, the official information about the new episode speaks of an epic, 2,250-kilometer journey through four countries: Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Slovenia. So not a word about the Czech Republic.
But cars will take care of the Czech track, which is also confirmed by the mentioned official trailer. It reveals that the famous Englishmen tried the classic formulas of Czechoslovakian origin in Poland and that in Slovakia Jeremy Clarkson took a ride in the historic sports Škoda 1100 OHC from 1957. In the trailer, May also appears behind the wheel of the Praga circuit.
We also know the ‘main’ cars that Jeremy, Richard and James spent the most time in on the road. Clarkson chose a striking Mitsuoka Le-Seyde for the trip, Hammond a yellow Chevrolet and May a tiny Crosley Convertible, which he said he bought while drunk. But the Crosley apparently broke down during the trip, as James was also seen in a purple hot rod with quirky lettering on the body during filming.
We can also look forward to an attack by archers on the main protagonists, the participation of a famous racing driver and a climax in the style of Fast and Furious.
The new episode of The Grand Tour: Eurocrash will be available on the Prime Video platform from June 16.
