The Grand Tour: Speculations about the Show’s Imminent End

The British news BBC News speculates about the approaching end of the popular TV show The Grand Tour with Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. James May himself has previously spoken about the potential end.

The popular TV show The Grand Tour is apparently coming to an official end. The latest information released by BBC News reports that the famous trio of British presenters have just returned from filming the latest episode of what is set to be the final episode of the hit motoring show. The approaching end of the show was hinted at by James May himself in the Fueling Around podcast earlier this year.

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May only returned from filming the latest installment in Zimbabwe a few days ago and have yet to officially comment on the speculated imminent end of the show. Even Amazon Prime internet TV is silent on the future of the popular car show, and the latest information from the BBC indicates that there is talk behind the scenes of finding a new format for the show.

The future of The Grand Tour has been talked about the most recently by presenter and tech enthusiast James May. At the beginning of the year, he said he hoped they wouldn’t want to do this for another twenty years. Filming around the world is undoubtedly challenging, and hand in hand, the legendary presenter trio is no longer the youngest.

Then last week he mentioned on the BBC’s Today Podcast that he thought The Grand Tour needed a new format and a new approach to motoring themes. Even with the advent of electromobility, the automotive world is changing significantly, and Clarkson, Hammond and May have been filming the motoring shows Top Gear and The Grand Tour together since 2003. It is therefore possible that the creators are starting to lack new ideas.

The TV show The Grand Tour has been created since 2015 and has appeared on our screens in five series so far. Amazon Prime then used “unemployed” presenters after Jeremy Clarkson punched a producer over an argument over the availability of hot food during the filming of Top Gear. Colleagues Richard Hammond and James May then followed suit when they voluntarily left the BBC.

At the same time, the latest information states that we can look forward to the continuation of other successful TV shows Clarkson’s Farm by Jeremy Clarkson and Our Man In… by James May on the Amazon Prime streaming platform.
