Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Central Bank Governor India (RBI), Shaktikanta Das, positive for infection corona virus (Covid-19).

“I’ve been tested and positive for Covid-19. No symptoms,” said Shaktikanta via Twitter, Monday (26/10).

Shaktikanta said he felt that he was currently doing well.

“I have notified all the people who came into contact with me in a few days. I will work from the isolation room,” said Shaktikanta.

Cumulatively, the positive corona cases there have passed the 7.7 million people.

This figure makes India the second largest country with corona cases in the world after the US.

The Indian government decided to reopen schools after claiming there had been a cumulative drop in daily cases of coronavirus infection.

The Indian government has also allowed the reopening of cinemas amid the Covid-19 pandemic. One of the largest cinema chains in India, PVR Cinemas, stated that they started operations from 15 October, with the implementation of strict health protocols.

To narrow the space for transmission, cinemas ensure spacing of seats and arrange showtimes so that not too many viewers gather at one time.

However, cinema networks in several states with high levels of Covid-19 transmission did not want to take risks, including Mumbai as the host of Bollywood.

The state where Mumbai is located, Maharashtra, is indeed the region in India with the highest corona virus infection rate. Maharashtra accounts for 37 percent of the total death toll in India due to Covid-19.
