The governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, held the meeting with his counterpart from Puerto Rico, Wanda Vázquez Garced, at the dinner that President Donald Trump offered last night to the members of the United States Association of Governors (NGA) in the White House.
Abbott said through a message on his Twitter account that he trusted to work with the island’s first executive, whom he described as “the new Republican governor of Puerto Rico”.
The publication is accompanied by some images in which the governor is dressed in a black dress next to Abbot.
Vázquez Garced was accompanied at the event by her husband, Judge Jorge Díaz Reverón. So far neither the president and La Fortaleza have distributed images and details about their participation in the gala and other activities of the NGA.

This dinner would be the first opportunity of the first executive to personally greet the American president in the middle of the emergency that the island is going through by the earthquake of January 7 in the southwest and the White House expressions about corruption inside the Puerto Rican political class.
Although the president requested a meeting with Trump since he came to the governorate, the meeting has not yet taken place.
However, after the earthquake they both had a telephone conversation through Republican Senator Rick Scott.
