The governor of the Kaliningrad region, Anton Alikhanov, is ready to sell bricks to Warsaw so that the neighboring state would build walls on the border.
In an interview with RIA Novosti, the head of the Russian exclave ironically commented on Warsaw’s plans to build barriers on the border with the Kaliningrad region from an “imminent storm of migrants”.
“I think, taking into account the cost of gas, brick firing in Poland is very expensive, but we have an excellent fifth element plant in Krasnoznamensk, we are ready to sell building materials to them, if necessary, please. Even with a small discount, said Alikhanov.
According to the governor, Warsaw’s fears that migrants from the Middle East and Africa are storming the border from Russia’s exclave in the Baltic are “an unhealthy paranoia of individual Poles”.
Anton Alikhanov also commented on another foreign policy topic: German citizens come to Kaliningrad to spend the winter because of the high prices for housing and communal services.
“There are Germans who come to us for the winter, because renting an apartment and paying bills for 4 months in Kaliningrad is like in Düsseldorf”, observed the governor.
Previously EADaily reported that Warsaw was exploiting a forgery about an alleged “migrant storm” planned on the Russian-Polish border through the Kaliningrad region. The reason for such misinformation was the news that Kaliningrad International Airport received the status of open sky, in particular, for receiving aircraft from Turkey and Syria.
According to information provided by the Minister of National Defense Marius Blasakthe “wall” on the Polish-Russian border will consist of three rows of barbed wire 2.5 meters high and 3 meters wide.
