Governor of North Sumatra (Gubsu) Edy rahmayadi returned to clashing with regional heads in their territory. In the past, Edy was involved in attacking each other with the Regent of Tapanuli Tengah Bakhtiar Ahmad Sibarani, now the Mayor of Medan Bobby Nasution.
Edy and Bakhtiar fought twice. The first feud occurred after Edy said Bakhtiar did not love the people. He questioned why Bakhtiar could become regent.
“When I wanted to become governor, I took volunteers with me to Central Tapanuli. As soon as I went there, all of the poor people. I didn’t campaign,” said Edy at the Raja Inal Siregar Hall, Governor’s office, Jl Pangeran Diponegoro, Medan, Tuesday (17 / 12/2019).
Edy said the visit to Tapteng which should have been used for the campaign was replaced with a meal with the community. Edy then mentioned Bakhtiar’s unsatisfactory performance.
“Finally, now I want to go back to Central Tapanuli, uh, the regent is like that. Not suitable to be a regent, how Aren’t the people poor? There is no pity for the people, why did he become a leader? “Said Edy.
Bakhtiar replied to Edy’s criticism. He asked Edy to use data, not just getting angry.
“The governor must speak according to the data, not because of sentiment towards me,” Bakhtiar said when contacted, Wednesday (18/12/2019).
He invited Edy to make a survey to show what Edy had done as the Governor of North Sumatra and what he had done as the Regent of Tapteng. Bakhtiar also dismissed Edy on the fact that he did not love the people. He then explained the various programs carried out for the people.
“In Central Tapanuli, we have cleaned up, please check, we have built hundreds of billions of infrastructure. We have built hospitals, even those that care for sick patients are fed three times a day for free. I am sure North Sumatra Province has not done this,” Bakhtiar explained. .
Bakhtiar also said that he was only inaugurated on May 22, 2017. He said, when Edy came to Tapteng for the campaign in early 2018, his programs in Tapteng had just started.
This mutual attack made various parties encourage the two to meet immediately. This feud slowly subsided even though the two did not meet in particular.

Second Half is the enemy of Edy vs Bakhtiar
It seems that Edy and Bakhtiar’s feud did not last only once. The second feud occurred again because of face-to-face school problems in the midst of the pandemic.
“If the COVID in our place is over, there is no more COVID, we will open a school,” Bakhtiar said, Thursday (4/2/2021).
Bakhtiar said that a face-to-face school would be held even though Edy did not give permission. He said the opening of a face-to-face school in Tapteng was carried out because the Ministry of Education and Culture had given permission for schools to open under various conditions.
“Last night, the health department, please check, if the 26 have fully recovered and no one has contracted the COVID-19 anymore. Schools that then the Governor agrees or disagrees, we will open it,” he said.
Bakhtiar then explained his reasons for wanting to open a face-to-face school. He said kids on Tapteng activities easier to control when they come to school.
Governor Edy later said he would not approve the opening of face-to-face schools as long as the pandemic was not over. He said that face-to-face school matters must be in accordance with the instructions.
“The Kasatgas is the Governor, all those concerned with COVID follow the Governor’s instructions, period. You can’t, later if you are sick how? “said Edy.
Hearing Edy’s answer, Bakhtiar remained insisted want to open a face-to-face school if the positive cases of Corona in Tapteng are zero. Edy still insisted that he would not allow it.
“Should not!” said Edy at the Governor’s official residence, Medan, Friday (5/2/2021).
