Old Age Guarantee Program (JHT) BPJS Employment is in the spotlight. This is related to the JHT money which can only be disbursed 100 percent when the age of BPJS Employment participants reaches 56 years.
Karo Humas of the Ministry of Manpower Chairul Fadly said the regulation is a limit for the retirement age. However, according to him, JHT can be taken with a number of conditions.
“So to talk like this, the assumption in the regulation is that the retirement age limit is right. Meanwhile, claims” JHT can be taken to prepare for retirement provided that the period of participation has been fulfilled. So, even if it’s been 10 years, it can be claimed,” Chairul told reporters, Saturday (12/2/2022).
Chairul said JHT can be disbursed when it has entered the 10-year membership period, which is 30 percent. According to him, this is intended for housing and other purposes.
“The value claimed is 30 percent for housing purposes or 10 percent for other purposes as long as it has fulfilled the 10-year membership period. This works for workers who have been laid off,” he said.
He explained JHT is a long-term guarantee for old age. He said workers have guarantees not only in the short term, but in the long term.
“So we’re back again, JHT is to be a guarantee long term in old age, so we hope that all social security workers are fulfilled in short time and long time. So that when they retire, there is still hope, because there is still social security that was taken at the age of 56 years,” he said.
“The issuance of the Ministry of Manpower Regulation Number 2 of 2022 is not intended to make it difficult for participants. This is actually a manifestation of the government’s commitment to provide comprehensive protection from all stages of life, when participants enter old age, in the hope that they still have funds for their needs,” he continued. .
Chairul said the government will prepare a social protection program for workers who have been laid off. Later, this program will be named Job Loss Guarantee (JKP).
“For short-term protection for workers or laborers who experience the loss of workers or layoffs, the government in the near future will prepare a social protection program which we call the loss of workers guarantee or JKP,” he said.
