The government wants to stop undesirable influence on mosques, but little is possible legally


From the letter from the cabinet to the House of Representatives:

Salafist drivers (individuals or groups within the Salafist movement) have a disproportionately wide reach within Islamic communities in the Netherlands due to their active and professional use of social media and their offer of informal religious education.

The Muslim Brotherhood strives for Islamization of society through missionary activities, religious education and welfare work. The intelligence and security services currently estimate that the core of the organization in our country consists of only a limited number of people (…). The development of this organization and its relationship with the Salafist drivers in the Netherlands, however, have the government’s attention.
