The Government Provides MSME Assistance and Wage Subsidies until 2021

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto stated, the government will continue providing assistance to UMKM and subsidy wage until the first quarter of 2021.

This was conveyed by Airlangga after a meeting with President Joko Widodo at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday (7/9/2020).

“The follow-up programs that are prioritized for Bansos are one, cash assistance related to the UMKM Banpres will be continued. Second, assistance Subsidy Salaries will continue in the first quarter of next year, “said Airlangga via the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel.

In addition, the government will also continue regular programs, such as the provision of programmed assistance in the Family Hope Program (PKH).

Airlangga said that with this assistance, the government hopes that people’s purchasing power will be maintained.

“Thus, these programs are expected to maintain people’s purchasing power in a situation with the Covid pandemic,” he continued.

Previously, President Joko Widodo asked the Handling Task Force Covid-19 and National Economic Recovery prioritizes health aspects over economic recovery.

This was conveyed by Jokowi when he opened a Cabinet Meeting on the recovery of the health and economic sectors at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday (7/9/2020).

“I need to remind you once again that the key to our economy to be good is good health. Good health will make our economy good. This means that our number one focus is health, is handling Covid. Because the key is here,” Jokowi said via the Presidential Secretariat YouTube channel.
