Darias has appeared before the media after the meeting of the Interterritorial Health Council, which took place on the same day that the campaign for childhood vaccination against Covid-19, approved by Public Health Commission a week ago with the aim of reducing the incidence of coronavirus in this age group, the most affected in this new wave of Covid-19 and which currently has a cumulative incidence (AI) of 667 infections per 100,000 inhabitants.
The Government considers that, given the increase in infections and the proximity of the Christmas holidays, the ideal is to gradually increase the age ranges that can receive the souvenir dose.
“Infections have increased by more than 40% since last week,” said Darias, who has specified that positive cases “have increased in all age groups except that of those over 70 years old“, where most people already have the third booster dose.
