– Mr. A, 30, who worked at Daedeok-gu Office in Daejeon last summer, installed illegal cameras in the women’s restrooms in the Ward Office, taking advantage of the gap last summer. He was discovered while photographing a woman’s body more than 20 times, and was sentenced to probation in an appeals trial held on the 10th. At the time of the crime, he was a new official for 10 months.
At the appeal trial of Mr. A, who was sentenced to two years in prison for violations of the Special Case Act on the punishment of sexual violence crimes, etc., the Daejeon District Court Criminal Affairs Division 1 (President Judge Yoon Seong-muk) sentenced him to three years of probation in one year and six months of imprisonment. In addition, the court ordered a 40-hour sexual assault treatment program and a three-year limit on employment at institutions related to children and adolescents.
Mr. A was charged with taking pictures of a woman’s body secretly 22 times after installing a small camera in the women’s toilet at the ward office on July 15-20 last year. It is reported that Mr. A, who was a new public servant, went to work about two hours first for illegal filming, aiming for a gap where no one was present.
The illegal camera installed by Mr. A was discovered by a woman. A police officer who was dispatched after receiving a report confirmed the appearance of Mr. A entering the women’s bathroom early in the morning on a closed circuit (CC) TV, and Dulmi was caught. Mr. A was fired after this incident.
At the first trial held on November 13 last year, Mr. A was sentenced to two years in prison. The court of the Daejeon District Court, who was in charge of the first trial, rebuked Mr. A, saying, “The crime of shooting with cameras installed in various places is very bad.”
On that day, the appeals court rejected the court case and commuted the sentence, judging that the sentence of the court sentence was rather heavy considering the fact that the first criminal admitted to the wrongdoing and the filmings were not circulated and agreed with some victims.
