Thus, over two days, the one on Tuesday, May 11, with the students of CEIP ‘Federico Romero’ from La Solana (Ciudad Real) and the one on Wednesday, May 12, with the students of the IES ‘Eladio Cabañero ‘of Tomelloso, Marco explained that the Office of Castilla-La Mancha before the European Union makes an exhaustive follow-up of the decisions that are taken by these institutions, “Especially those that are most important for our region because they affect them in one way or another ”, he said, so his participation in bodies such as the plenary session of the Committee of the Regions, which is held monthly, and support for the Government in the Council of the European Union, are also part of his functions. main.
In addition, the Office constantly and actively searches for financing opportunities for the public and private sector in the region, and advises and provides information to citizens and public and private entities on the policies, programs and projects of the European Union. Along with this, the personnel that are part of this Office participate in networks of thematic regions on the topics of main interest to the region and the visits of representatives of the regional government to Brussels, as well as of the entities that require support, are coordinated.

Two centers in contact with Europe
The two educational centers in which the two days have been held have strong contact with Europe. Specifically, the IES ‘Eladio Caballero’ of Tomelloso is the Ambassador School of Parliament, for which they have carried out a series of actions commemorating Europe Day – they celebrated it in the Plaza de España on May 9 – among which this talk.
On the other hand, the students of the CEIP ‘Federico Romero’ from La Solana participate in the ‘Twinning’ Program of the European Commission, which involves cooperation and exchanges with other schools in the eurozone. Currently, they are carrying out an exchange with a Lithuanian school through this program and with their students they share respect for nature and value rural roads and natural areas.
Contest ‘What is Europe for you?’
In addition, completing the actions around Europe Day, the general direction of European Affairs, through its Europe Direct center, an action aimed at knowing what Europe means for citizens. To do this, they have organized a contest on Facebook. You just have to send a photo or a micro-story by private message (Messenger) to Europe Direct Castilla-La Mancha in which the personal meaning of Europe is explained.
The first 50 people in each category will receive a batch of products from Europe Direct Castilla-La Mancha. In addition, the evaluation committee of the contest will choose the three photographs and the three micro-stories that will be published in the special Europe Day of the Office newsletter.
