The government is preparing to abolish the cost of living in Ukraine

It is planned to replace the minimum standard of living in Ukraine with a special social payment. Its size will be determined individually. The composition of the family will affect the amount.

“We want to move away from the subsistence level.

The minister clarified that the new basic payment will be given in two cases:

• due to loss of ability to work;
• for help without the necessary financial support or, in other words, because of poverty.

According to her, the current living wage is unrealistic because it is too low. In addition, the minister noted that the introduction of a special social benefit will have a positive impact on the entire social system and economy.

Let us remind you of that from 1 January 2024 is the cost of living: general mark – 2920 hryvnia, for children under 6 years – 2563 hryvnia, for children aged 6 to 18 years – 3196 hryvnia, for able-bodied people – 3028 hryvnia, for people who have lost the ability to work – 2361 hryvnia.
