The Council of Ministers has adopted a bill to amend certain acts to facilitate agricultural retail trade by farmers, the Chancellery of the Prime Minister announced on Friday. The proposed new regulations, incl. they raise from 40 thousand. PLN up to 100 thousand. PLN the amount of revenues exempt from income tax as part of the so-called agricultural retail trade.
The possibility of tax-free sale of agricultural produce and own products appeared in 2017. The prerequisite for this activity is that the food produced and placed on the market must originate in whole or in part from the operator’s own cultivation, breeding or rearing.
The proposed amendment clarifies that the agricultural retail trade consists in the production of food containing at least one ingredient entirely derived from own cultivation, breeding or rearing of a food business operator.
As part of such trade, it is possible to produce, including small-scale food processing and sale of food locally – in the voivodeship and in poviats and cities constituting the seat of the voivodship or regional council, adjacent to the voivodeship. After the changes, the sale will be allowed throughout the country.
Now the bill will go to parliament. After its adoption, the president will also have to sign.
