POSBELITUNG.CO – Some people think that the government is fickle and inconsistent in making rules.
This is because the government has changed a number of related policies travel rules during the Covid-19 pandemic this week.
These changes include revoking the previous rule, namely the requirement for a private vehicle to travel a distance of 250 kilometers or 4 hours which is required to have a negative PCR or antigen test result.
Another rule that will also be changed in the near future is the requirement for airplane passengers in the Java-Bali region, which previously required PCR, can now be replaced with antigen.
The PCR obligation is only for prospective passengers who have only received the Covid-19 vaccine once. This does not include the decrease in the price of PCR tests, which fell after receiving a lot of criticism from the public.
How do academics see the policy changes made by the Government in such a short time?
Government credibility
Regarding the policy changes made by the government, Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Lecturer in the Department of Management and Public Policy (UGM) Gabriel Lele assessed that changing policies would give rise to issues of government credibility.
This has made some people think that the government is fickle and inconsistent in making rules.
“Actually, whether the government is serious or not, think it or not, has a policy direction or not? Unfortunately, when the government wants to be responsive and quickly takes policies, it will lose its credibility because it is considered fickle,” Gabriel said to Kompas.com, Wednesday (3/03). 11/2021).
