The government is asked to facilitate healthy living to prevent disease transmission

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Head of the Department of Community Medicine–FKUI Dr. dr. Retno Asti Werdhani, M.Epid asked the government to provide access to food, the environment and a healthy culture of living to prevent the spread of various diseases.

“Support from the government so that we can access healthy food, a healthy environment and a healthy living culture,” said Dr talk show entitled “The Future of Health Resilience: Disease Challenges After the COVID-19 Pandemic” which was attended in Jakarta, Friday.

In addition, Asti also asked all parties to raise public awareness about the importance of maintaining health through various educational activities.

People need to be aware that many factors can affect their health such as daily living habits, disease history, environment and diet.

“Each individual must be aware that health conditions are influenced by many things, not only the presence of bacteria, viruses and pathogens, but also a history of living habits, behavior, previous disease history, the environment we live in, work. Are there any comorbid conditions that affect us?” can make our immune system low, how do we eat,” he said.

According to him, there are two types of risk factors, namely modifiable risk factors and non-modifiable risk factors such as age and genetic factors.

Asti added that if people have risk factors that cannot be changed, it is necessary to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Meanwhile, for modifiable risk factors, it is necessary to change them in order to live a healthier life.

The Community Empowerment Team for Health Emergency Support for the COVID-19 Handling Task Force added that other factors that can affect health are the health system, social conditions and certain beliefs.*
