Libreville, Monday, March 13, 2023 (Infos Gabon)- The Premier, Head of Government and his team remain mobilized alongside the victims and their families and are increasing the search.

Under the leadership of the Head of State, Ali Bongo Ondimba, the government, led by the Prime Minister, Alain Claude Bilie-By-Nze, remains mobilized around the affair of the Esther Miracle, a ship of the Royal company Coast, which capsized in the early morning of March 9, while trying to reach Port-Gentil from Libreville. Since then, a number of measures have been taken by the Gabonese authorities. In particular, the precautionary suspension of night voyages for all passenger ships until March 31, 2023 for navigation safety reasons; an audit of all naval units dedicated to passenger transport and the opening of an information unit for the seafarers’ health service. A final official provisional report reports three dead, 123 people rescued, 26 people still wanted, 73 having reunited with their families and 50 others still under observation in the various health centres.

The Prime Minister, head of government who invites people to exercise more restraint and refrain from disclosing false information, says that “research is continuing and intensively to find possible survivors and identify the wreckage” . “It is important to reserve this information for families to respect the pain, in the event of proven and confirmed death (…) The government, as everyone knows, in the painful situation that our country is going through, stands alongside the bereaved families”, reassures Alain Claude Bilie-By-Nze.

To carry out the various operations, in addition to the numerous crisis meetings, the various competent State services supported by private partners are mobilized. The government intends to establish in the days to come the responsibilities of each other. Just as he reaffirms his unwavering support for the families affected in this painful ordeal. “Alongside the families, we stand in mourning, in pain and we will be alongside the families in the face of the responsibilities that the shipowner will have to assume”, insisted the Prime Minister, head of government.
