In the evening today, the Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte, signed the decree (Dpcm) to extend the measures against the coronavirus decided on 7 August last until 7 October. The extension had been expected for a few days and was necessary to keep the arrangements already made at the beginning of August.
The only significant novelty of the extension is the addition of the possibility to fill in a self-certification for those coming from countries from which it was not possible to reach Italy until now. The self-declaration serves to confirm that, once in Italy, he will reside in the home of a person “even if he does not live with him”, but with whom he is “in a stable emotional relationship”. The self-certification will also be valid as a communication to the ASL and will be accompanied by the obligation of quarantine for 14 days.
The countries concerned include those from which entry was prohibited: Armenia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Brazil, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Chile, Kuwait, North Macedonia, Moldova, Oman, Panama, Peru, Dominican Republic, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia and Colombia. It remains the obligation to undergo the swab if you return to Italy from Croatia, Greece, Malta and Spain.

The new Dpcm confirms the rules already in force, including those that make masks mandatory indoors and outdoors where physical distancing is not possible. Public transport can only be filled up to 80 percent of their capacity. The extension also affects discos, which will continue to remain closed.
Conte also launched some in-depth studies for a plan aimed at reducing the use of cash for payments in commercial establishments, encouraging the use of contactless electronic payments. There are not many other news on the subject for now, but numerous health institutions advise avoiding cash, whose exchange in commercial activities could favor the spread of the infection.
