Thiruvananthapuram: The government has sanctioned Rs 30 lakh for the Governor’s flight. The amount was sanctioned for the governor’s flight by relaxing the treasury control. The order was issued as requested by the Principal Secretary to the Governor.
On December 29 last year, the Governor’s Principal Secretary had written to the government asking for Rs 30 lakh for the Governor’s flight. An additional amount of Rs 30 lakh was requested after the money allotted for the Governor’s flight in the financial year 2022-23 was exhausted.
Tickets for governor travel are booked through a government agency called ODEPEC. Raj Bhavan’s demand was to pay Rs 30 lakh in this item. Considering this, the government issued an order on the 7th of this month.
At present there is a treasury restriction in the state for withdrawing amount above 25 lakhs. Despite this, the government has sanctioned additional funds for the governor’s air travel despite the financial crisis.
