The Government Gives Service Stars for 22 Medical Workers Who Die While Treating Covid-19 Patients

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD said, the government will hand over star services for 22 medical personnel who fell while caring for a patient Covid-19.

Submissions will be made to representatives of medical personnel who have died on Thursday (13/8/2020).

“On August 13, next Thursday we will hand over 22 service stars to medical personnel who died,” Mahfud said in an online press conference on Saturday (8/8/2020).

He explained that there are two categories of service stars, namely Bintang Jasa Pratama and Bintang Jasa Nararya.

The awarding of this service star is decided by the council of titles, honors, and honors.

“A total of nine medical personnel who died were named Bintang Jasa Pratama. Then Bintang Jasa Nararya to 13 medical personnel (who died). It is a form of respect from the government which is symbolic for those who died,” said Mahfud.

According to Mahfud, those who work for it certainly do not want to die because they want to receive compensation or a tasa star.

“Do not want to get a service star because there is no point in it all when it has passed, but it is the government who will give it,” said Mahfud MD.

According to Mahfud, the handover to representatives of the 22 medical personnel who had died was only the first stage.

This is because the government is still waiting for all reports of medical personnel who died.

After all data is collected, he said, the same service stars and compensation from the government will also be distributed.

“Later, the government will be given the same star of service and compensation in this case through the committee, the sub-committee. The task force now together with the Ministry of Health will continue to work intensively to record anyone who has died,” Mahfud said.
