As a pledge of his support for businesses that are still closed, the government doubles the stake. The monthly compensation ceiling for companies that remain shut down due to the pandemic will be increased to € 200,000 per month. The Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, announced it on Saturday, November 28 during a trip to traders in Reims, in the company of Prime Minister Jean Castex. This will mainly concern large companies.
The government had announced a few days earlier a new support system for closed businesses, which includes compensation up to 20% of their turnover compared to that achieved last year during the same month. The amount of this aid scheme, initially capped at € 100,000, will therefore be doubled.
Great hotels and restaurants
This will cover restaurant owners who have two, three restaurants, restaurant chains, hotels with several dozen or hundreds of employees who were not covered until now.
, said Bruno the Mayor. He also cited sports halls and cafes as potential beneficiaries of this amount of compensation.
The system will be maintained until the reopening of these companies.
Between March and October, the solidarity fund involved more than 1.7 million companies, for an estimated cost of 7 billion euros. According to the Ministry of the Economy, for the month of December, business support systems represent an estimated cost of 3.5 billion euros.
